Hyldemoer: This is one of my favorite pieces. After I started with a general gesture from a model in clay, I used a piece of bark to continue shaping and mark making. She unconsciously started to morph into a tree-like entity. Once she was fired, I incorporate a bit of the bark as a final finish to further convey the notion of a tree or spirit of the tree. She is fired clay with bark and an acrylic patina and is 14 x 5 x 5 inches on a stainless steel rod. Price: $425.
